On October 16, the Global Cross-Border Privacy Rules (CBPR) Forum established the Global Cooperation Arrangement for Privacy Enforcement (CAPE), a multilateral arrangement for Privacy Enforcement Authorities (PEAs) to collaborate on a global scale.
The Global CAPE is open to regulators globally to facilitate cross-border cooperation in the enforcement of data protection and privacy laws, including joint investigations and enforcement actions. All PEAs can apply to participate in Global CAPE; participation is not limited to PEAs of Global CBPR Forum Members or Associates.
Interested PEAs should refer to the Template Letter of Intent for Global CAPE Participation and are welcome to reach out to the Global CAPE Administrator (tsuda-makiko@meti.go.jp and sato-mai@meti.go.jp) with questions regarding the application process.
