The Global CBPR Forum is pleased to share important updates that underscore our continued efforts to foster international collaboration on privacy, data protection and data flows.

We are pleased to welcome Nigeria as an Associate in the Forum. This marks an important step in furthering the Forum’s objectives of facilitating data protection and the free flow of data globally by broadening the Forum’s geographic diversity and engagement of the African region.

At the same time, Verasafe has been appointed as a new Accountability Agent for the United States. The continued growth in the number of Accountability Agents in the U.S. represents companies’ growing demand for the Forum’s privacy certifications.

Finally, the Global Cooperation Arrangement for Privacy Enforcement (CAPE) network has welcomed two new participants: the Personal Data Protection Committee (PDPC) of Thailand and the Information Regulator of South Africa. This brings the number of Privacy Enforcement Agencies (PEAs) in the Global CAPE to 29. The inclusion of these regulatory authorities expands and strengthens the Global CAPE’s ability to promote cross-border enforcement cooperation and enhance data protection efforts across multiple regions.

These developments signal the expanding global reach and influence of the Global CBPR Forum in promoting effective data privacy and protection across borders.
